The open-air play Cäsar Ritz from 18 July to 11 August 2018 was a complete success. 14 completely sold out performances, 2 of which were only scheduled due to the great demand, showed the great interest in the hotel pioneer Caesar Ritz and his work. The capacity of the grandstand could even be extended with additional chairs. From the staging and the natural setting in the middle of the village, to the performances of the amateur actors, to the culinary delicacies from the region and the Caesar Ritz product line - praise could be heard and enthusiasm felt all around.
Furthermore, the Gommer Höhenwegfest, two steam train rides with dinner, a hotel taster day and the autumn market of the Binntal Landscape Park took place as part of the Cäsar Ritz anniversary 2018.
- The traditional Gommer Höhenweg festival ended in Niederwald. During the last section of the trail, the guests were on the Cäsar Ritz Weg.
- On the steam train trips to Gletsch, the guests were taken back to the Belle Epoque, when mountain tourism was still in its infancy during Caesar Ritz's lifetime.
- At the hotel taster day, guests were given a glimpse behind the scenes of a guesthouse.
- In honour of Caesar Ritz, the autumn market was held at the Binntal Landscape Park in Niederwald.
All these events rounded off the Caesar Ritz anniversary. We will take up the many positive impulses and use them to sharpen the mountain village culture - original and genuine. The personality of Caesar Ritz lives on and is one of the motors for the tourist development of the destination.
