1878 La Trouville: He makes an attempt as co-proprietor of the hotel «Les Roches Noires», but after a season without success he returns to the hotel «National» in Lucerne.
1880-1888 Lucerne/Monte Carlo: The manager Caesar Ritz commutes between the hotel «National» and the «Grand Hotel» in Monte Carlo. Auguste Escoffier is the chef in both houses.
1888 Cannes: Wedding with the Alsatian Marie-Louise Beck.
1889 London: He takes over the management of the hotel «Savoy». With his building measures, events and his talent for organization he sets new standards.
1890er Caesar Ritz manages up to ten hotels at a time. In Baden-Baden he buys the «Hotel de la Conversation», later on the hotel «Minerva» and in Cannes the «Hotel de Provence», which Marie-Louise Ritz runs. The hotels turn out to be goldmines, so Marie-Louise Ritz says.
